We are pleased to offer the "IBUKI GPS Optional Rental" to participants of Mt.FUJI100. We hope you will take advantage of this service to help you navigate this grueling race safely and with peace of mind as you strive for the finish line.
What is IBUKI?
IBUKI is a tracking system that allows runners' positions to be viewed in near real-time. By carrying the "IBUKI GPS" device, location data is transmitted every 3 minutes, allowing supporters and fans to track a runner’s progress almost instantly.
This marks the third consecutive year that IBUKI has been officially adopted for Mt.FUJI100. While many other trail running events require all participants to carry these devices for tracking and timing, at Mt.FUJI100, it is available as an optional service for the first 1,000 applicants. Please note that for this event, IBUKI will be used for tracking purposes only and will not be used for official time measurement.
What kind of device is it?
It is a slim, lightweight (78g) GPS communication terminal. It is roughly the size of a business card and fits easily in the palm of your hand. It is waterproof, dustproof, and shock-resistant, making it reliable even in rainy weather.
The IBUKI GPS uses the docomo LTE network. Generally, coverage follows the docomo "LTE" service area map. However, since the device only transmits time and location data (a much smaller amount of data than a voice call), it may successfully transmit even in areas where making a phone call is difficult—particularly on ridges with a clear view. Conversely, communication may fail even within service areas if you are in a deep valley.
The battery lasts for approximately 40 hours of continuous use in good signal conditions, but may deplete faster depending on the surrounding environment.
Devices are handed over with the power already turned on. Especially for FUJI100mi participants, the battery may run out approximately 27 to 30 hours after the start.
Because the battery is being consumed during the waiting period between check-in and the start, we strongly recommend charging the device with a mobile battery until just before the race begins. Additionally, please carry a mobile battery during the race and perform "top-up" charging for about 30 minutes to 1 hour as needed. The device can be charged while you are running.
To use the device, place it inside the dedicated pouch (after ensuring it is powered on) and attach it to your backpack's shoulder strap. As it is a radio-transmitting device, please be aware that signal reception may be hindered if it is placed at the bottom of a pack or near aluminum or water.

Smoother Support Preparation
Supporters want to welcome their runners at aid stations in the best possible way. IBUKI helps supporters determine exactly when a runner will arrive by showing their current location.
Reduced Burden on Supporters
Knowing that a runner is still a few hours away allows supporters to take breaks or naps, reducing the overall physical and mental strain of supporting a 100-mile race.
Support from Event Venues or from Afar
IBUKI is also a great tool for those who want to cheer from the venue or for friends and family who couldn't make it to the event. They can follow your progress and cheer you on from anywhere in the world.

Device Pickup
A special IBUKI booth will be located at the mandatory equipment check/number card exchange area on the day of the race. Please provide your name, race category, and bib number. Devices will be handed over powered on and inside their pouches.

Battery Management (Important)
Devices are powered on at the time of pickup. Since the battery is consumed from that moment, runners whose goal time exceeds 27–30 hours may run out of power before finishing. Please charge the device before the start and for 30 minutes to 1 hour during the race. (Charging while running is possible.)
How to Return
the Device Please return the device to the IBUKI booth at the finish line (Fujisan no Meisui Stadium). If you retire from the race, please return the device to the finish line at Fujisan no Meisui Stadium or the Hokuroku Park Gymnasium. Please note that devices cannot be returned at aid stations.
If You Forget to Return the Device
Please mail the device back to OND Inc., the operator of IBUKI. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the user.

Failure to Return
If the device is not returned or is intentionally damaged, a replacement fee of 14,800 JPY (tax incl.) will be charged.
Cancellations
A cancellation fee will apply if you cancel your rental.
Note:
If you cancel your race entry, you must also separately cancel your GPS rental. These are the guidelines for the rental cancellation:
Up to 30 days before the start: No cancellation fee. Full refund. Up to 14 days before the start: 10% cancellation fee. The remaining balance (minus bank transfer fees) will be refunded. Up to 7 days before the start: 30% cancellation fee. The remaining balance (minus bank transfer fees) will be refunded. Up to 3 days before the start: 50% cancellation fee. The remaining balance (minus bank transfer fees) will be refunded. 2 days before the start or later: 100% cancellation fee. No refund.
